If James knew his friend was an addicted gambler after finding out, why would he allow him to take for the pawn shop, Florida's silver, salt and pepper shakers from the family generation that was passed along....remember Willona first asked to borrow them for dinner?, well they should have let the family friend, Willona borrow the silver salt and pepper shakers when they found them in his suitcase after trying to steal them, at least Willona would have brought them back after using them......however, James was a big fool, to allow his friend, the gambler, to take the family generation silver salt and pepper shakers to the pawn shop for just $10.00 and I bet, the gambler was NOT coming back        :lol:

It seemed like when his friend went to reach for them James would have said...."I knew it" and prevented him from taking it while saying GET OUT LOL

Never understood why he just let the man walk out the door with the shakers

Solomon, I remembered someone saying, "James should have put the salt and pepper shakers in front of Ernie, and when Ernie tried to take them, snatch it back, saying, "Kids, let this be a lesson of how bad gambling can get."

Ernie was one of those pathetic gamblers who would steal the last dollar out of his mother's wallet.
