anyone know if Seth McFarlane is still planning a remake of this?

I pray to God that he leaves this alone. It fell apart and it hasn't been heard since.

Not likely now, he's very busy with his two shows and now doing movies. His reboot of The Flintstones was put on hold.

With FOX pulling the rug under him after cancelling "The Cleveland Show" and having "American Dad" move to TBS...I feel that FOX is done with Seth McFarlane and yet STILL milks-off from that ****ing cash-cow "The Simpsons"!

I don't know...I think he'll do a pretty good job on it since he used to work for Hanna-Barbera, and he knows that people would be mad if he makes it all "FAMILY GUY-ish"

Fox isn't completely done with Seth. There will be Bordertown coming in 2015.

Since the Flinstones was in itself a parody, The Honeymooners. Even the stories and gags, stolen from Jack Benny, Burns & Allen, Dick Van Dyke, I Love Lucy and I'm sure others. There would be a huge risk of losing something really special with the series.

Now I read somewhere that Macfarlan was a big fan of the series and that he knows what he's doing and would not put his usual adult humor into it, that he would keep it true to the original.

I would really like to see Seth take this challenge. One way he could do it, as the Honeymooners was your core basis way back when, what about "Home Improvement" as the core this time around, Fred was always inventing something in his garage, the Flintstones show was infamous about show casing prehistoric gadgets and home conveniences that fit into this theme.

and the voice behind the gate is obviously Barney Rubble. Bottom line it could be done tastefully, without hurting the series any.
