View Full Version : Poll: best opening sequence Lee 03-09-2002, 04:27 PM Which do you think is the best opening sequence? Superbatboy 03-09-2002, 06:12 PM 5th season (Pastels, Orchestral music) for me!!! GoldenFamilyTies 03-13-2002, 11:25 PM The one with all of them dancing, and it has denise with long hair. I think it was season 6. In season seven at the end of the opening dont they show Cliff holding up a portrait of Denise? It only shows up for like less than a second though. :( Superbatboy 03-13-2002, 11:49 PM Originally posted by GoldenFamilyTies The one with all of them dancing, and it has denise with long hair. He's very talented. GoldenFamilyTies 03-14-2002, 05:42 PM I found out the one I'm talking about is them dancing at the Apollo theater... afijamesy2k 03-20-2002, 05:27 PM I Think dancing at the apollo theatre is the best one, it has the shiny black floor, it was the coolest, I Wish I Can remodel my room after I Win the lottery. musicradio77 10-21-2003, 07:51 PM Originally posted by Superbatboy That's season 4 with Bobby McFeron singing/huming the theme song. The Bobby McFerrin one did the theme song before he recorded the song "Don't Worry, Be Happy" the following year. Brent88 10-22-2003, 12:40 PM I voted for Seasons 6 and 7 at the Apollo, I LOVE that one. I always like the one from Season 4 with the Top Hats. I hate the African dance type thing in Season 5 though. theanswerman 10-22-2003, 04:19 PM i like season 2 barwars 10-26-2003, 09:08 AM I voted for.... 1985-86(Dancing against a blue background-Pop/Jazz/R&B music) 1987-88(Formal black tie attire-1940s Jazz music) 1988-89(Tropical dance, Orhcestral music) 1989-91(Dancing at the Apollo Theatre, music by Junior Walker) But I like them all besides the last season, and not just because its my least favorite season either. Dean Winchester 11-12-2003, 11:40 AM I'm shocked the 86-87 one is so unpopular. It's not a fave but considering it was probably their biggest season, I figured more people would like it swedeace 01-15-2004, 01:40 PM I chose the 1988-1989 Tropical Dance one. I read somewhere that song sequence is called "Kiss Me" for this season. Interesting! ;) I played a TV Themes CD at work recently, and it was this version, and I had my co-workers guess which TV show this belonged. They thought it was The Simpsons!! Now, when I hear this from now on, it does seem to sound very Simpsons-ish. :D musicradio77 01-15-2004, 11:20 PM Originally posted by Brent88 I voted for Seasons 6 and 7 at the Apollo, I LOVE that one. I always like the one from Season 4 with the Top Hats. Same as that along with the seasons 6 & 7 opening that has a quote at the end of the theme in which Cliff would say "This is the best elevator music I ever heard." I saw that opening on Nick at Nite in the American version. The Italian version of the seasons 6 & 7 opening from the Italian "Cosby Show" site replaces Cliff's quote at the end with an Italian dubbed quote done by the late, Ferrucino Amendola, the Italian voice of Bill Cosby. 8o's girl 03-14-2004, 10:21 PM I love the tropical dance opening because you get to see Theo's muscles! SuperSonicHedgehog 03-17-2004, 11:01 AM My favorite one is the 1986 one. I don't know why...but I just think it's really cool, and I like the song that plays with it. :) Pieman 03-21-2004, 09:01 PM The first one is my favorite, mainly due to the music. AKA 03-28-2004, 01:36 AM The 1987-88 Bobby McFerrin one is my favorite. dandelion wine 03-28-2004, 01:55 AM Season 6 tanabi5790 04-13-2004, 10:00 PM Season 6/7 and Season 5 with the Tropical dance is my favorite. Does anyone have a good quality wav or mp3 of the tropical dance theme? The one available on Sitcoms Online is slowed down and so the pitch is brought down a little lower. :( Miss Golden 06-22-2005, 01:53 PM Well, I liked the second season the best, I think it fit the whole Cosby Show series the best and it was the most traditional. But, I have to say the 1988-1989 theme was very different compared to all the other theme's and openings Cosby Show had used. I remember even my grandmother stopped watching it because she hated that theme, but I have to say it added something that season and I loved the music, even though most think it was the worst theme. But the final season with the hip-hop and Pam and all her friends was definately the worst. RaytownLover92 06-22-2005, 02:14 PM my three favorite themes are the one in 1985-86, the one in 1987-88 and 1989-1991. they have very catchy tunes :) Southern Hellraiser 06-22-2005, 03:34 PM Mine would be 1985-86 1987-88-Use to hate this one 1989-91 1991-92 But I like the saxophone so it'll be 1989-91 PrettyinPink55 06-22-2005, 07:43 PM The tropical dance one!!!! hch 06-23-2005, 12:34 PM Ain't it great how the openings change with the seasons? I could always tell which season was which because of these. I liked the 1985-1986 one, the tropical one from 1988-1989 (that opening always intriqued me), the 1989-1991 season theme and I was a sucker for the 1991-1992 theme as well. In fact, I never really knew that the final theme was supposed to be the one used for the 1990-1991 season. Interesting. but anyway, if I had to go with an all-time favorite, it would have to be the 1988-1989 season. moeee 06-23-2005, 03:57 PM 1985-86 version GeorgiaboyJeff! 06-29-2005, 09:46 PM 84-85 89-91 I liked how in the last ep, they showed all of the openings.
