I've wondered for a time about the pennants on Wally's & Beaver's bedroom wall in the Pine Street (second) house. The pennants are usually visable in the scenes shot there. One has a "W" and the other has a "P". Since the family lives in Mayfield with the high school the same name of the town, I've wondered what those pennants stood for.

With regards to the "W" there has been speculation on this board that the family may have lived in Wisconsin (as there were a few references to the Green Bay Packers in a couple of the episodes) so the "W" could be for that state. I'm not sure about the "P". Any thoughts about them?

How about they're just generic decorations and have no meaning whatsoever?

That's pretty much what I always figured that apparently, the writers/producers found no particular deesire to have the show set in any particular locale.Just the comedy was the thing. And just think of "Mayfield".Certainly a most generic sounding town name.It was all just about the typical 1950's middle class family.Location wasn't exactly all important..........

In an early episode, Voodoo Magic, when they show Eddie's bedroom he has a pennant for Ohio. I forget the city but I think it's Cleveland.

Also they had a pennant for H and D. Someone way back said the W pennant stood for Winner- Wally and the F pennant was failure for Beaver.

I agree just generic pennants to decorate a boy's room.
