"Arrow" Taps Sin City Alum as Katana in Season 3

Sin City, 2 Fast 2 Furious alum Devin Aoki has been tapped to play DC Comics heroine Katana on "Arrow's" upcoming third season, TVGuide.com has confirmed.

The actress will play Tatsu Yamashiro, a martial arts expert who wields a deadly sword and acts as one of Oliver's (Stephen Amell) mentors through flashbacks. She's also a critical influence on his journey to eventually become The Arrow of present day.

Aoki, who will first appear in the season premiere, is set to recur.



The last we saw of Oliver Queen in the past, he had woken up Hong Kong, where he meets Amanda Waller (Cynthia Addai-Robinson) for the first time.

"Arrow" returns for its third season on Wednesday, Oct. 8 at 8/7c on The CW.

Rila Fukushima Joins "Arrow"

Rila Fukushima (Wolverine) has landed a major recurring role on the hit CW drama "Arrow". She will play Tatsu Yamashiro, a character that first appeared in the Green Arrow origin series graphic novels published by DC Comics.

She is a Japanese martial arts expert who wields a deadly sword, a blade from which her codename Katana is derived.



In "Arrow", Tatsu will be one of Oliver’s mentors in the flashbacks and a critical influence on his journey to eventually become The Arrow of present day.

Fukushima replaces Devon Aoki, who was originally cast in the role but pulled out because of a scheduling conflict.
