(Alice & Trixie are in the Kramden apartment.)

Alice: "What are you and Ed doing for July 4th?"

Trixie: "Well, Ed is entering the National Hot Dog Eating Contest."

Alice: "Oh boy."

Trixie: "Don't tell me that Ralph is entering too?"

Alice "He is. I hope they don't fight."

Trixie: "Me too. Honestly Alice, it is as if we were living with kids."

Alice: "Maybe they will be mature."

Ralph (from hallway, yells): "JUST REMEMBER THIS NORTON! FROM NOW ON, WE ARE DEADLY ENEMIES. I DON'T WANT TO SEE YOU. I DON'T WANT TO HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU. IF YOU SEE ME GOING DOWN THE STREET, GET ON THE OTHER SIDE."

Ed (from hallway, yells): "WHEN YOU WALK DOWN THE STREET, THERE AIN'T NO OTHER SIDE."

Ralph (from hallway, yells): "YOU WILL PAY FOR THAT NORTON! I WILL SEE YOU TOMORROW AT THE CONTEST THAT I WILL WIN."

(Ralph opens the door and slams it. He glowers at Trix.)

Ralph: "What is SHE doing here?"

Alice: "Trixie is here because she is my friend."

Trixie: "I will see you later Alice."

Alice: "Bye."

(Trixie leaves.)

Ralph: "From now on, I don't want you to see her. Us and the Nortons are now DEADLY enemies. The nerve of Ed to enter the Hot Dog Eating Contest."

Alice: "Ralph, he could enter the contest if he wanted to and the fact that you two are fighting like babies over this is immature."

Ralph: "That is your opinon. When I win that Hot Dog Eating Contest, I will become the big man around here. He won't...DON'T YOU DARE SAY IT!"

(The next day at the Hot Dog Eating Contest.)

Announcer (aka Johnny Olsen, over PA): "LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, WECLOME TO THE ANNUAL JULY 4TH NATIONAL HOT DOG EATING CONTEST."

(Ralph & Ed have to sit next to each other.)

Ralph: "Too bad that I am sitting next to my worst enemy."

Ed: "Geeeee, what a grouch."

Announcer (aka Johnny Olsen, over PA): "THE PERSON WHO EATS THE MOST HOT DOGS IN 5 MINUTES WINS THE $20,000 AND A TRIP TOOOOO...MIAMI BEACH!"

(Audience cheers.)

Ralph: "Get ready to be upset Norton. I will win. I can pack hot dogs. You will win over my dead body."

Ed (looking at Ralph's stomach): "I will do that even though I am not a mountain climber."

Ralph: "Ooooooh, you are going to get it."

(The bell rings.)

Announcer (Aka Johnny Olsen, over PA): "GO!"

(Ralph & Ed are neck and neck eating hot dogs. Four minutes and thirty seconds later, Ralph & Ed are ahead of the rest with Ralph ahead of Ed. Ralph looks sick.)

Ralph (yells): "WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

(Ralph "hurls.")

(Bell rings.)

Announcer (aka Johnny Olsen, over PA): "THE WINNER! ED NORTON! HAPPY JULY 4TH EVERYONE."

(Ed gets the cash prize. Ralph gets up and looks like he is going to hurl. He also looks angry but he embraces Ed and doesn't hurl.)

(Jackie Gleason walks on stage. Audience cheers.)

Jackie: "Thank you. HOW SWEET IT IS."

(Crowd cheers.)

Jackie: "As you might tell, five minutes didn't really pass and I didn't really hurl. Not even I can eat that many hot dogs that fast because of my age and what else. Smae thing with Art and everyone else that was on stage. If we did, I think we would all die. Hahahaha! Happy July 4th everyone. The Miami Beach July 4ths are the BEST! GOOD NIGHT!"

(Crowd cheers.)
