I wouldn't consider that a contradiction. I was supposed to graduate in 1982 but dropped out my sophomore year. I was surprised to receive an invitation to the 25th year reunion in 2007 which stated that all members of that class were welcome to attend whether they graduated or not. I declined but thought it was very considerate of them to invite me.

I have always wondered about this. I have also wondered why his parents were not shown again after he got married to Becky. To me, they brought more depth to the show since they were Pam's parents too.
