How's this for a vote of confidence? AMC announced Thursday that it has already ordered a 13-episode second season of "Better Call Saul".
The "Breaking Bad" spin-off starring Bob Odenkirk's slimy lawyer Saul Goodman was slated to debut in November, but will now be pushed back to early 2015, with Season 2 making its debut in 2016.
This change will now pair the series with the second half of "The Walking Dead", television's highest-rated drama among adults 18-49.
"When introducing any series, especially one with the DNA of Breaking Bad, there are countless factors to consider in making sure the show gets the launch it deserves," said AMC president Charlie Collier in a statement.
"We have a strong history with Vince Gilligan, Peter Gould, Bob Odenkirk, the studio and so many involved with this production; we are enjoying the process on Saul and all share a focus on making it a true television event. No half measures."
AMC also announced that "Breaking Bad" creator Vince Gilligan will direct the pilot of "Better Call Saul", and will act as showrunner alongside co-creator Peter Gould, who wrote the episode of "Breaking Bad" in which Saul was introduced.
