i love John Oliver - he can go on a rant about anything and make it hilarious.
I don't give a crap about soccer ("football", whatever), and John Oliver knows this; he makes a point of understanding that Americans don't love "football" while the rest of the world is CRAZY about it.
- but that's the whole point; it doesn't matter what he is talking about, John Oliver makes it entertaining. His analogies are so spot-on, he just points out how criminally stupid some things are, and in the case of FIFA, how criminally criminal they are. Sure, it might seem safe to make fun of stuff like "football" and the dictator of Syria (as Right Said Fred says "You're too awful for this earth") - but he has already tackled issues like gay marriage and the death penalty (making a general mockery of all sides of any such debate).
His attack on FIFA was brilliant. Yet also hilarious and true.
