I mean all they knew about him was that he was passionate about cooking and becoming a chef so to tell them he was a busboy would be a little embarrassing.

And if dean travers wrote him a letter of recommendation to be a chef at a fancy restaurant why the hell would the manager hire Jack as a busboy? LOL

It is a little confusing when you think about it, also why couldn't Jack just take his resume elsewhere? And why didn't Jack do his research and discover that the gourmet place wasn't in need of a chef?

Now that I think about it jack cpuld have stayed there and applied for a chef position at a later time. That was his foot in the door. I always wanted a job at a tv station and if I was offer a job to mop floors at NBC I would have taken it

But jack was so damm clumsy and got fired. Lol
