That's quite possibly one of the most ludicrous things I've read.

the headline is stupid and misleading; there is quite a difference between saying that people that hate remakes ARE homophobic and comparing the logic (or lack thereof) involved in someone's decision to be against gay marriage to the logic involved when people say that they hate remakes.

regardless, I think the comparison/analogy is completely baseless. Irrespective of anyone's thoughts about gay marriage and homophobia, it is basically an argument of individual rights versus a group's rights. The argument against remakes, specifically horror remakes, is purely subjective; no one has to like a remake, but they have a right to have a subjective opinion about it - in other words if someone watches a movie and decides that they did not like it, then that is their personal experience with the movie - and whether that opinion is based upon a comparison to the original or any other contemporary movie is completely irrelevant.

Sure, a movie should be judged on its own merits; but so many remakes are just cheap quick money grabs with minimal effort to put together a worthwhile product instead of just cashing in on a previously successful movie's name.

that's the only part of the article I disagree with calling someone gay because they hate reboots is ignorant I am a fan of remakes though
