how many of you aren't going to celebrate it? Our family has decided not to this year since my father passed away in January-and we all still miss him.:(

I understand how you feel Joe. These days are always hard when you lose a parent. I don't celebrate Mothers Day because of that. Hang in there buddy. :(

My parents divorced over 30 years ago but both are still living and will be 70 next year.

I don't celebrate it. I do say a few words to him, and a prayer. He's been gone for 12 years now, and I remember him like he was here today. I was blessed with a wonderful Dad. He gave me a great childhood.

I'm not since my Dad passed away back in Nov. 1981 and I'm not a dad and most likely never will be.

I think of my father, recalling fond memories of times we had, etc...sometimes I visit his grave, but no, without him here, I don't think I could say that I 'celebrate it'.

The sad thing is that I begin to forget the holiday is even upon us because without parents, you don't feel compelled to observe it, really. When he was here, I normally took him and my mom out to eat, bought a gift or two, and just had a relaxing day.

Like Janice, Joe, comedyfreak, dakert and, I'm sure, others, I miss my dad, a lot.

sorry for your loss#

lost mine some years ago and not allowed to make a fuss off my step father as it just puts his children in a bad light and upsets him

Sorry for everyone who has lost their father, it makes for a sad day.
My father passed away several years ago and we usually get flowers for his grave. My son wants to take my husband out to eat for Father's Day so I guess we'll do that.

I avoid celebrating Father's Day each year because I do not have a father period. I only have a mother, and nothing else.

Let me join the "my father has passed away" club. :(

But here in Sweden, Father's day is in November.

You know who else won't be celebrating Father's Day? Mindy Kaling's two children.

Mindy Kaling has chosen (https://www.marieclaire.com/celebrity/mindy-kaling-interview-2022/) to keep the paternity of her two children private, even from the children themselves. I, as a fatherless child myself, respect that choice.
