Some of you may know that I am having a RESCUE FROM GILLIGAN'S ISLAND PARTY from my post "Watching Gilligan's Island The Gilligan Way". I am so excited about this. I have looked for images on the internet of what a proper Gilligan Island party should be and I couldn't really find what I was looking for.

Most images were just costume parties with a few Luau decorations, as to be expected.

Even though this party is a small party, I am very excited about the little projects I have been working on.

Now, this party is to celebrate my kids watching the RESCUE FROM GILLIGAN'S ISLAND for the first time. It's so hard to find a good show that the kids and I not only can watch together, but also all have an interest in. So to give you an idea of what I am planning, aside from the decorations...

Ceramic Coconut cups - making virgin daiquiris (both strawberry and coconut)
Coconut cream pie or Banana cream pie
Actual coconut halves as candy dishes
Pizza delivery - kids like pepperoni, but my half will be HAWIIAN ;)
I went to the dollar store and bought pineapple and coconut drink containers with straws. What the kids don't know, is that these containers will also have prizes in them.

I'll post pictures of the decorations here after the party.

On June 8th, the castaways will be getting rescued at our house!!!

It's a double feature. We'll be watching Surviving Gilligan's Island afterwards.

Oh, I almost forgot. I purchased party poppers for when they tow the castaways into port.

I thought this would be fun before we start. (oops, lettering error on #3. Caught it)

I'm officially calling this party the "GILLIGAN'S ISLAND RESCUE PARTY"

Kind of has a nice ring to it.

I just made Prize cards for the party. I printed them out as business cards. Each one is different, of course.

I just realized something. We will be watching both Rescue From Gilligan's Island AND Surviving Gilligan's Island, so IT WILL BE A "THREE HOUR TOUR".

I suppose you could say that this all started about 200 miles southeast of Hawaii...
