THE LATEST THING COULD BE KEAGAN

Could Carrie Keagan be taking over Craig Ferguson’s desk? When the former host of VH1’s “Big Morning Buzz” was a guest on his “Late Late Show” May 23, Ferguson and Keagan switched roles as a goof.

But we’re told producers — on the lookout for a replacement when Ferguson leaves in December — were impressed.

“It’s resulted in some interesting conversations,” said an insider. “There’s been some back-and-forth about the idea.”

I think Carrie Keagan is great, but I don't think this is going to happen.

I think CBS is going to play it safe and get someone that is a proven performer that they know will draw the viewers it needs to beat NBC.

I agree. No wonder I didnt see her on VH1 anymore. Why did she leave VH1 in the first place?

Everybody from Rosie Perez to Jason Alexander to David Duchovny hosted for two to three nights at a time, before CBS settled on Craig Ferguson as Craig Kilborn’s replacement.

Carrie Keagan could definitely do the job - so could Aisha Tyler, Chelsea Handler, Ellen DeGeneres, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, or Amy Schumer as she mentioned - but some people just don't like her and maybe it is too polarizing of a choice for a network that is known for playing it safe.

I would like to see John Oliver do the show - his Last Week Tonight show is incredibly original and funny; and even for someone like me who really isn't into politics, he handles it all in a way that makes it entertaining and funny, yet still manages to make some simple yet important points.

- and he has managed to get a lot of attention with a few of his recent topics, including threatening the monarchy of Thailand, the Russians, and other current news figures.

- and of course Stephen Colbert and John Oliver are both The Daily Show alumni, so I think they would work well together.
