Tyra Banks Lands New Talk Show

Tyra Banks will return to daytime TV in 2015 with a new talk show, Disney-ABC announced.

The untitled series will feature Banks leading a team of lifestyle experts as they tackle topics ranging from fashion and beauty to home and entertaining to empowerment and individual enterprise. In addition to Banks and her team, the series will also feature celebrities, web personalities, experts and everyday people.



Banks, who will executive-produce the series, said in a statement:

"I'm excited to be partnering with Disney-ABC to usher in a new era of lifestyle, beauty and entertainment that will inspire women to be the CEO of their lives via honesty, humor and the newest tips and tricks without being intimidating or precious. To my fierce fam of future viewers: I can't wait to shake up daytime TV together. I have a lot of information to give and still lots to learn. Let's do it!"



Based in Los Angeles, the show aims to incorporate a cross-platform experience using the model's considerable social media followers. Though no deal is currently in place, the syndicated lifetime talk show will be taken out to stations shortly.

Banks previously earned a Daytime Emmy for her first talk show, "The Tyra Banks Show", which ran from 2005 to 2011.

Tyra Banks Panel Talk Show To Launch Fall 2015 on ABC Stations

"The F.A.B." (Fun and Beautiful), a Disney-ABC syndicated lifestyle show hosted by Tyra Banks, has been cleared on the ABC-owned stations for a fall 2015 launch.

The ABC stations, which represent 23% of the U.S. households, have been airing local programming and acquired shows in an hour that had been taken up by Katie Couric’s talk show for the last two seasons.

Disney-ABC had been developing potential replacements under Lisa Hackner, who joined as EVP Daytime & Syndicated Programming, ABC Entertainment Group a year ago.





Banks, who also serves as executive producer, is joined on the show by social media buff and foodie Chrissy Teigen, fashion guru Joe Zee, interior design professional Lauren Makk, and do-it-yourself YouTuber Leah Ashley as co-hosts.

Banks will moderate the panel of lifestyle experts who also will bring in celebrities, Internet influencers, experts and everyday people and tackle topics ranging from fashion and beauty to food and design to doing it yourself and even starting a business.





This marks the first major launch for Hackner.

“At 40, Tyra has never been more relevant than she is today and her massive and growing digital footprint exemplifies her connection with women of all ages,” she said. “Tyra has curated a fresh and authentic panel of co-hosts that is diverse in expertise, digitally connected and also share a magical chemistry.”





The Los Angeles-based show also marks Banks’ return to national syndication following her successful daytime talker.

She also continues as host and executive producer on the long-running reality series "America’s Next Top Model", which she co-created.
