I caught the episode where Lucy finally had a chance for a career in show business while they were visiting Hollywood. When she started daydreaming about being a movie star, finally being famous, she got sad thinking about little Ricky and how little time she would be spending with him. I realized how ironic the whole idea was because her own children weren't getting much time with her due to the show. Has anyone heard or read if her kids were resentful about not having their parents around because of I Love Lucy?

In answer to your question, I was reading "Desilu: The Story of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz" the other day and came across this quote for Lucie Arnaz:

"My mom was like the matriarch who came in now and then and laid down the rules we had to follow. She had no choice, in a way, my mother. I can't really blame her for any of it. She didn't have that connection because she wasn't given it by her own mother...I think it hurt my mother a lot that she had to make a choice between this career thing and this child thing. She was trying very hard to make her life happier, so she had a baby...Who knew twenty seconds later she was going to have a hit TV series? And there goes that. Deal with the baby later."

Hope that helps!
