Recently I received a personal friend request on Facebook from Robbie Rist, aka Cousin Oliver :D . I looked at his profile, and it looked like his (it lists him as being born somewhere in the San Fernando Valley north of Los Angeles, which sounds about right).

I'm kind of on the fence as to whether to accept this friend request. I don't know him personally. If I had received an invitation to become a "fan" of his, I'd probably bite.

Interestingly one of my Facebook buddies is or at least was friends with Taylor Swift. Of course, the fact both live outside of Nashville, Tennessee, makes the fact all the more credible. Shockingly enough, both were born in the same state--Pennsylvania! But I digress!

So what do you say? It could be a scam and could be someone posing as him working for the NSA!

A scam is likely,

A lot of times authenticated Facebook pages of actors, or musicians have a check mark next to the profile. This means that Facebook has been able to verify their account that they really ARE the person they say they are-For example they might have their screen actors guild number, some other personal information. You have to fill out a form and verify it with a company.

If you don't see that check-mark, it is probably not them, and I would not accept their friend request.

I've been friends with him on Facebook since April 2011. I'm also friends with Geri Reischl the fake Jan.

What difference does that make? Do you really believe that every celebrity knows all their Facebook friends personally?

Who in the world would want to pose as Robbie Rist?
