A man was looking for his biological mother. She left him in a trash can. I remember he was a journalist and his mother actually called him and he straight out told her “how can you toss me out like a piece of garbage?” (or something along those lines). I think the story his adoptive mother told him wasn’t true and she never did toss him out. Can anyone remember this story? My memory is killing me right now!! (and add details if needed) :D

Why did his adoptive mother make up that cruel story about his birth mother leaving him in a trash can? Was it to make him hate the birth mom so he'd never look for her and find out that his bio mother was his adoptive mom's niece?

If she felt she had to lie, why didn't she just say he was left at someone's doorstep, or some version of the truth which was that his young mom couldn't afford his medical care so she gave him up, or some scenario less awful than the trash can story? Believing that he had been dumped like garbage must have caused feelings of being unwanted and unloved, and maybe even worthless, if his own bio mother could do that to him.
