Tina Louise was a gorgeous actress and quite a good singer.

How come she didn't do variety or talk shows?

Her husband Les Crane had a talk show!

Wouldn't she be great on a Bob Hope special?

Good question. I have no idea. I thought she did comedy better than drama.

I couldn't agree more. I was thinking how versatile she was in the episode where she was trying to impress the producer by acting as different characters when serving him his dinner.

She seemed to have this idea that she was a serious actor, but she also did lots of semi nude photoshoots in the 50s. And yet she was perfect as Ginger. She had talent, she could do comedy. If only she'd accepted this about herself at the time. She strikes me as someone who never really found her niche in life.

With all of the double characters in the series, Tina Louise did the best as her double Eva Grubb. Incredible acting.

I thought so, too. She was really convincing as the dowdy Eva, even when she was made up to look like Ginger she retained the insecure mannerisms.

I kind of wish Eva hadn't turned out to be evil!

All of the cast has nothing bad to say about anyone else on the show - except Tina. You have to think it was no accident and that her reputation of being difficult was well earned and she wasn't a big enough name to warrant putting up with her.

Tina Louise sang in the Broadway musical L'il Abner but they wanted to cut her song for the movie version and she turned down the part. Too bad.

And she sang ballads.

I'd love to see her do something uptempo like "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend." She had the curves to out-bump Marilyn.
