I don't have GSN, but someone told me that late at night, shows like "Beat the Clock" and "What's My Line run 40 mins instead of the traditional 30 mins. Why is this, when the other shows run in traditional half-hour segments? Does GSN edit classic game shows? For example, when USA aired reruns of Let's Make A Deal they would edit what they thought was insignificant material out of some of the shows.....(It's a sad case indead when you have to edit a GAME SHOW!) Those shows were shown in an era when commercial breaks were 4 minutes per episode, if that. So for GSN to show them in their entirety, plus have room for the tons of commercials they show now, they make them 40 minutes long. Some of the newer game shows they show don't run as long as the B&W ones. Those however are sped up occasionally.
