In reality, Two and a Half Men was "The Charlie Sheeen Show". He was the straw that stirred the drink and he was the focus of whatever happened week to week. John Cryer was simply too pathetic a character to gain a following because no one wanted to be a pathetic, accident-prone loser/crybaby like he was every episode. People tuned in because they wanted to see the wondrous adventurous of Charlie and his swinging bachelor lifestyle. It was like "Two and a Half Men" was a documentary on Charlie Sheen's swinging playboy life style.

Two and a Half Men should never have been brought back. Once Charlie left, the show was terrible.

There was no other reason than MONEY for this show to continue without Charlie Sheen at the helm. He was the front, back, heart and soul of this series. I figure since they had settled on paying him untold millions of dollars as a settlement for firing him, they figured they would use the built-in fan base to recoup the loses from the advertisers. Strictly a money move and nothing whatsoever to do with quality or standards. No true fan of the show continued to watch after his untimely exit.
