I've just been wwondering something... :D
A couple people have refered to a certain scene as "The Famous Alex Scene". What the heck is it? :confused:

Depends on what episode you are referring to:

When Alex went to the psychologist because of his friend dieing, several scenes were famous scenes.

The scene I am constantly referring to on this board is, I think, from They Can't take That Away From Me Part 2. The last scene of the episode features Alex sitting in the Keaton living room and having a solo spot where he is speaking to himself about his uncertain future in NY and had him walking out to a standing ovation to end the show. I have only seen it once in its entirety when it aired originally. Never got a chance to tape it but I will get the chance next week if NAN doesn't screw me over with their unfair and notorious schedule changes and episode skipping. I always thought that scene was one of the great TV sitcom moments and I suggest every Family Ties fan have it on tape.;)

By the way if you want to know the exact day it will air, (assuming NAN doesn't screw us) I can't be sure that it will air on Fri/early Sat at 2am and 2:30am (parts 1 and 2) or if it will air on Sat/early Sun next weekend. I am thinking it will be the latter, but I'll be sure to confirm the exact times it airs once I find out for sure.;)

I saw this episode on Nick at Nite and as I recall the last scene was at Alex's graduation from college. He is up on stage talking about his life and then they say, "And now the valedictorian of the class of 1989, Alex P. Keaton," or something like that and it ends there. It could just be me, but I don't remember watching the scene you are referring to.

I recall that scene as well but the scene I am talking about definitely takes place in the Keaton living room. If you go to the episode guide at Family Ties online and read the description to They Can't Take That Away From Me Part 2. The last few sentences kind of hint to him closing one chapter of his life and facing and uncertain future in NY. I may be ordering scenes incorrectly but I definitely recall the living room scene. Hey, I could be wrong and since the episodes air I believe Fri/early Sat we will see if I am remembering this scene correctly.

Okay after watching They Can't Take That Away From Me, I've realized I am not thinking about the right episode, but I know the scene as I described took place. The question is which episode was it, or is it possible that this scene I am remembering took place after an episode finished and Alex did some kind of farewell to the audience, that was only shown on one of those Television's greatest moments shows that was hosted by Dick Clark. Doubt that one though.

So if anyone knows of an episode that ends the way I've described please post a response. It is simple, Alex was sitting in the living room said some things and then got up from the couch and walked out to a standing ovation of some kind. Please help!
