View Full Version : Does anyone not miss TV Land?
70s show watcher 05-09-2014, 07:57 PM the reason i ask this is because last month my cable company had a dispute with viacom and removed tv land from the lineup and replaced it with tv one and i am finding that i enjoy watching tv one far more than tv land does anyone else who does not have tv land as a part of ther lineup miss it or have dvd;s and other channles made tv land obsolete?
DJM77 05-10-2014, 12:17 AM I wish DISH would have a dispute with viacom and replace TV Land with TV One. I used to love TV Land. Now I hate it!

Becca3557 05-10-2014, 06:35 PM TV Land used to be a great network; heck, even its commercials were original and creative. We never watch it now; I could not tell you what channel it is on my cable system.
tlc38tlc38 05-10-2014, 06:45 PM I think I speak for everyone here when I say that we all USED to like TV Land back when it was actually good and aired a variety of classic shows.
Coffeecup 05-10-2014, 07:05 PM I do watch Hot In Cleveland . I do notice a show that is on METV will be on Tvland and I see the same show. different episode but same show. If I suddenly lost it other than seeing HIC , I wouldn't fret over it.
quincywagstaff 05-10-2014, 07:38 PM TV Land made itself irrelevant as it gradually dumped most of it's classic shows for more current fare. Fortunately, Me-TV, Antenna and Retro-TV have more than filled the gap. If I lost TV Land on my system, my reply would be "Good Riddance".
dakert 05-10-2014, 10:39 PM The last thing I enjoyed on TVLand was the Kitschen 10 years ago when they showed Batman, Shazam and Adventures Of Superman on the weekend.

mets82 05-13-2014, 03:56 PM To be fair, TV Land does show classic shows. Only thing is that they show them off the clock and show way to many commercials. I still say and believe that if TV Land could find a balance between classic shows and the newer shows and even there original programming, they'd be a very good network. Drop the off the clock nonsense and not have the same promos air after every commercial break.
Ohio8 05-13-2014, 05:46 PM Last month my cable provider, Buckeye Cablevision, also had a dispute with TVLand's parent company, and it's since been resolved. I don't really care if BC continues to carry these specific channels or not.

10. DVD's;)TVLand isn't what it used to be but it easily beats Logo, nothing worth watching there. The one show I've seen on that station is Bewitched, and I'm glad it's moved to Antenna, horrible program ads on Logo.

OK PLEASE!! Explain what that graphic is because I see it on a few of your posts and I have no idea what it is. If it's a website, show the link because I can't find it.
If this site is really that good, then it might actually be better than TV Land, except in TV Land's early days, when it established itself as the best place to find classic TV series.
I never got to see TV Land until 2001 when TV Land Canada was formed, and it tended to behave much like its US counterpart. When it started, it had many great series and there was more variety in its lineup even when you included older Canadian shows in the mix. After a few years, that was no longer the case. The City/CHUM Group bought the station and completely ruined it and viewership dropped off until CTV bought it and turned it into Comedy Gold, which isn't that great of a channel either.
So in answer to the question: Do I miss TV Land Canada? I miss what it used to be rather than what it ended up becoming, and I always keep hoping (usually in vain) that something better will eventually come along.

You are 100% correct and TVLAND was great when it first aired but it Jumped The Shark when it started to show movies. . . . . . .
comedyfreak 05-22-2014, 04:52 AM The only good thing about TV land is Hot In Cleavland.
