Ronen Rubinstein, Grace Phipps, Sierra McCormick, Michael Polish Round Out Teen Slasher ‘Some Kind Of Hate’

Ronen Rubinstein (It Felt Like Love) and Disney stars Grace Phipps (Teen Beach Movie) and Sierra McCormick (A.N.T. Farm) will lead the cast of indie horror Some Kind Of Hate, from first-time helmer Adam Egypt Mortimer. Michael Polish (Big Sur), Noah Segan (Looper), Lexi Atkins (Zombeavers), Spencer Breslin (The Happening), Maestro Harrell (Suburgatory), sierramccormickJasper Polish (The Astronaut Farmer), music producer Jeremy Hawkins aka JHawk, and Brando Eaton (The Secret Life of the American Teenager) also star in the slasher about a bullied teenager who’s sent to a desert reform school where he accidentally summons the spirit of a girl, herself a victim of bullying, who takes vengeance on his tormentors. Mortimer and novelist Brian DeLeeuw co-scripted the pic which takes cues from youngster horror pics like Nightmare on Elm Street, Carrie, and Let the Right One In. Caliber Media is producing and arranged financing. The company’s Dallas Sonnier and Jack Heller are producing alongside Revek Entertainment’s Amanda Mortimer and Gabriela Revilla.

Rubinstein is repped by Radius Entertainment and Gersh. Phipps is repped by Radius, Resolution, and attorney Mitch Smelkinson. McCormick is repped by Radius and the Corsa Agency. Michael and Jasper Polish are repped by Radius Entertainment. Michael Polish is also repped by CAA. Harrell is repped by CESD and Untitled Entertainment. Breslin is repped by Don Buchwald & Associates and Envision Entertainment. Eaton is repped by ICM. Segan is repped by Resolution and Untitled Entertainment. Atkins is repped by Resolution and Luber Roklin. DeLeeuw is repped by 3 Arts Entertainment and attorney Alex Kohner.

I'm not really into horror movies, but in the case of Miss McCormick, it's about time she gets another role.

Sara is great but I don't get why when certain stars leave the Disney Channel their first non-Disney roles are always something a thousand degrees away. I get that they are trying to grow up, but I don't think I'll be watching this movie.

I think they are afraid of being typecast in a certain role, so they go for something way different.
