I'm excited about all of the Y&R nominees! It's about time for Peter Bergman to win again. Not only is he one of the best actors in daytime television, he's one of the best actors...ever.

Even though I don't watch DAYS, I'd love to see Eileen Davidson win.

I really hope Melissa Claire Egan or Amelia Heinle win for Supporting Actress. It's funny--the three Y&R ladies nominated in that category were all previously on AMC.

Does anyone know how the online soaps were eligible for Daytime Emmy noms?

I was wondering about that...

I was wondering about that...

Here are my two educated guesses......

Both "now failed" online soaps did have televised airings on "OWN" and for the same reason that shows like "Orange Is The New Black", "House Of Cards", etc are also eligible for Emmy Awards.

Ellen DeGeneres, Steve Harvey and “The Young and the Restless” were among the night’s top winners on the first-ever streaming Daytime Emmys ceremony. With no TV format, everybody just let loose — even booing when co-winners Dr. Oz and Katie Couric didn’t show up. “It’s not being televised — just f*cking get pissed and have a good time,” Sharon Osbourne said at one point. PLUS: The entire thing was a top-to-bottom train wreck (http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/style-blog/wp/2014/06/23/daytime-emmy-awards-red-carpet-a-disaster-actual-show-a-hot-mess/), and this is the best thing to happen to the Daytime Emmys (http://www.goldderby.com/news/6686/daytime-emmys-review-kathy-griffin-chandler-massey-entertainment-news-19462937.html) in years.
