That said, what's the deal with them skipping two seasons? Just last week or before, Steve's plane crashed at the Shady Rest. Now, this week, Kathy Jo was brought home from the hospital.

My DVR is set to record the series. On weekdays it was season 4 and on Sundays I believe it's season 6. I noticed that the Sunday episodes went from Betty Jo having her baby to a show where Dr. Janet was living at the hotel. This week the missing episodes between those two shows have been playing on weekday mornings. I hope they go back to season four because I enjoyed finding out how Steve became a member of the family and curious about how he transitioned from Billie Jo to Betty Jo.

I agree, For me I pay my cable bill only to have MeTV and Antenna TV, just an FYI with MeTV, your inquiry is not alone to "Petticoat Junction" and I have not figured out any justified reasons......I have had MeTV for over 2 years....they only started showing the first 2 black & white seasons recently, they do not show the last two seasons or any B&W episodes of "My Three Sons", and they only run the first 5 seasons of "The Donna Reed Show"....

I do know that with My Three Sons that when they put it in syndication they only started with Ernie's adoption to the first one or two years that Steve and Barbara got together. It always made me crazy because I remembered Ernie being a curly haired teen and Dodie and the triplets being a bit older...I was beginning to think I dreamed the rest of the story. lol.
Then one day on an episode they had a flashback of Steve talking to Chip when he was a little kid and I was like 'How did they pull that off?'.
I asked my Dad about it and he told me that My Three Sons had been on a really long time and that Mike's wedding was not the 1st episode.
Later someone else syndicated the package of all the previously skipped over seasons. I still don't see why they can't still buy both packets and play them in order. I haven't seen any of the b&w and would love to see the later ones again. I too would like someone that actually knows how these things work to tell us why it was done that way and why can't they run them in order.
As for PJ here is what I know about that. I read in a television magazine years ago that the first two seasons were never suppose to see the light of day. It was decided to just syndicate the first color season to when ever it ended. They probably knew by season 4 that was the plan and probably why they just duplicated the Christmas episode. I think that they had that last season so they had 5 to put in the syndication package. The article also stated that the first two seasons films were in really bad shape. I'm glad that issue has been resolved and we can finally see them again.

So how come they can play Petticoat Junction in order (or some what in order lol) and not My Three Sons? If anyone knows the answer do tell because it's always fun to learn how things work in the world of classic television. :)

Going WAY back (1985?) I remember that Nickelodeon (before it became "Nick-at-Nite,") was "Camp Nickelodeon." Camp Nickelodeon showed My Three Sons IN ORDER, beginning with the very first episode. It aired about 11pm and I couldn't wait to get home from work to watch (if I couldn't make it, I set my VCR.) Those B&W episodes were truly classic. "Mike" was the oldest brother the first five seasons. (I vaguely remember watching these episodes when they were primetime.) Uncle Charley wasn't part of the family yet. Instead, there was "Bub" the grandfather, was William Frawley (aka "Fred Mertz.") Interestingly, when "Mike" married in the first episode of season 6, his bride was Meredith MacRae, (Billie Jo Bradley.) Once Mike married, he left forever and was never mentioned again.

How lucky you were able to see those shows in order, Disney fan.
We had cable back in '85 and I remember how Nickelodeon became Nick-At-Night in the evenings. The frustrating thing to me is that our cable company would shut down Nick-at-Nite after a couple of hours and it became another network all together. It changed back to Nickelodeon about 5 or 6 in the morning with the kids programs. For years I thought the premise of the show was a widowed father loses his oldest son (to marriage/moving away) and adopts another to make up the three sons again. lol. The later episodes were playing on prime time when I was in Kindergarten. I haven't seen any of those since, but I remember Ernie, Dodie, and Uncle Charley being my fave characters.
Petticoat Junction was another show I adored as a child, but my recollections of it have lots of gaps. They never seemed to play it as much in syndication where I lived. I do remember Meredith MacRae being Mike's wife on that "1st" episode though. :)

I would like to see the season 4 episodes and what about season 5. . I saw a few. One was a christmas episode which was a rehash of a season 1 episode.. Another was Betty and Steve marriage. The episode dealt about which dress Betty Jo should wear. Kate had a tear in her eye and wished her daughter the best on the marriage. Do you suppose it has something to do with Bea's death that there not showing them. Or maybe the episodes aren't that great quality of film.
