Now, when Ted had his first class as a professor at the college, he accidentally went into the wrong classroom. Season 5 episode 1. When he did this, he mentioned that he didn't know it, but "Your mother was in that class".

SO, was Tracy McConnell (aka Cristin Milioti) in that episode??? If she was, she obviously wasn't that obvious... well, you know what I mean.

I just re-watched that episode a couple of times and couldn't seem to find her. I did find this image on the Internet.

Now, of course this is not a screen shot of that episode. They're not going to make it that obvious. I think I may have spotted her 19 seconds into that episode. Here's my screen shot:

I could be wrong, but I think she's right here...

The reason I think she was in that episode is because I found this article:

Because in this interview, she is quoted: "I didn't know what was happening on the show, so I never thought I was interviewing to be The Mother."

and

"They (Carter Bays & Craig Thomas) didn't tell Milioti why they wanted to meet with her - only that it was for an arc."

No, I guess not. This new image I found, indicates that she is sitting close to the back wall.

Breaking it down. I have viewed the show again on Netflix and none of the people in the above picture are in that episode. I know, I know. Too Trivia.

It wasn't hard to realize after that last image with the girl in orange. Plus there's only two places in that room that have a small section of white paneling against the back wall.

Those images must have been a set-up for a flashback that I missed.

Ah! Episode 16 of season 9 "How Your Mother Met Me" is where the above Internet shots are from. I missed that one. :p
