It seems that rabbits don't have a long life span. Family Ties Forever! 04-11-2014, 11:05 PM Sorry to hear that. Wawwie 04-11-2014, 11:25 PM Aww, too bad. It seems that rabbits don't have a long life span. If I was sentenced to live in a cage, I would rather be dead. But if he was an outdoor bunny who lived freely then that's a different story. Who said anything about it living in a cage? There are rabbits that are house-pets just like a dog, cat, ferret, etc... Also, a pet rabbit wouldn't survive long if allowed to roam outside freely. Regulus 04-11-2014, 11:49 PM Losing a Pet, no matter what kind of animal it is, SUCKS! :( Hopefully your Niece will get over her Rabbit's "Crossing the Rainbow Bridge" and hopefully will get a new pet. Fleet 04-12-2014, 12:33 AM Aww, too bad. It seems that rabbits don't have a long life span. I think average life span is about 8 years. Which isn't very long; about 1/2 that of a dog or cat. Most owners caged indoor bunnies let them several times during the day, which most likely does extend their life span. Coffeecup 04-13-2014, 11:09 AM Sorry to hear about the rabbit. But speaking of rabbits our neighborhood gardner was working in our yard and found 4 tiny baby rabbits. Some one thought they were mice but gardner friend said look at the heads and you will see ears. I told them put them in the woods. I did wonder if mama rabbit would come back. We have had rabbits gobble up our garden crops so didn't want them to stay. Family Ties Forever! 04-13-2014, 08:11 PM If I was sentenced to live in a cage, I would rather be dead.
