View Full Version : Canceled? comedyfreak 04-08-2014, 12:01 PM I guess the show was not renewed for a second season? yankeesrj12 04-08-2014, 02:30 PM According to Lucas' tweet, he left Nickelodeon: https://twitter.com/LucasCruikshank/status/350056101502386178 So yep, sounds like Marvin Marvin has been canned. comedyfreak 04-16-2014, 05:34 PM Nice of them to leave us up in the air. Now I can remove the program from my DVR, thanks for the info. ChrisFergusonFl 05-08-2014, 11:29 AM I respect Lucas but I honestly think YouTubing and acting are not his thing. Best wishes, Chris Ferguson HauntedThunderman94 09-25-2014, 10:06 PM Good riddance! This show was terrible. icecream 11-23-2014, 06:17 PM I never even heard of it until I saw this thread just now. TMC 12-16-2021, 08:32 PM Good riddance! This show was terrible. The Worst Sitcoms Ever Made (https://www.looper.com/708634/the-worst-sitcoms-ever-made/) Marvin Marvin https://www.looper.com/img/gallery/the-worst-sitcoms-ever-made/marvin-marvin-1639604152.webp If you've ever heard of Lucas Cruikshank, it's probably because of Fred: a screeching, high-pitched character he developed on YouTube before bringing to Nickelodeon. But this wasn't the only televised crime against humanity Cruikshank unleashed upon the world. After the failure of "Fred: the Show," Cruikshank returned for another short-lived, widely panned series on Nick, titled "Marvin Marvin." Lucas traded his Fred character for the titular Marvin, who is almost as insufferable. Mercifully, this character, an alien whose parents sent him to earth disguised as a human to avoid the invasion of his home planet Klooton, doesn't stare into the camera and scream like Fred. But the rest of the manic, hyperactive energy that defines Cruikshank characters is there in all its headache-inducing glory. Terrible writing and acting aside, the premise may be giving you déjà vu. Not only was "Mork and Mindy" already a thing, but Nick had explored this premise twice before, with "Invader Zim" (https://www.looper.com/590499/disturbingly-dark-childrens-franchises-that-scarred-us-forever/) and "The Journey of Allen Strange." Sure, Marvin wasn't secretly scheming to take over the world like Zim, but the whole "alien high schooler pretending to be human" thing is too close for comfort. Now that we're thinking about it, if Zim had just tried being as obnoxious as Marvin, we probably would've surrendered the planet just to get him to shut up.
