Please give your input/insight into the death of Keith Warren after reading the facts below:

Discrepancies in the investigation into the death of Keith Warren:

1. Clothing change- clothing Keith Warren left the house in and items given back to family at the time of death were not the clothing Keith Warren had on while suspended on the tree. I would like a direct answer and not speculation as to how the police officer/detective were in possession of the items that Keith left the house in but was not wearing when found on the tree. ALL witnesses at the scene confirm the items were not at the crime scene when the body was found and they are not mention anywhere in the police report. The employees from the funeral home who cut the body off the tree confirm that they were in possession of the body and nothing else. The question has been posed to the Detective using his “very good recollection” and not speculation where did the clothing come from?

2. Per Dr. Rogers and stated on the Medical Examiners report death occurred ‘the night before”. Using Dr. Rogers logic Keith would have had to have night vision to carry a 40 foot rope, change of clothing, blue back pack and 4 pack wine cooler in the middle of the night to the un-lite wooded area and tie the rope around two trees using the elaborate configuration per the officer’s report. No flash light or any other night light equipment was listed in the police report as being in the vicinity of the body. This fact alone should have motivated the Detective and patrol Officer to send the body to the morgue for autopsy. There was no suicide note or any other item at the scene to indicate suicide. What is the Detective’s explanation for not sending the body to the morgue?

3. Per the Detective, Collins funeral home was a random call made by him to remove the body from the area. Per Ms. Mary's (Keith's mom) hard work and investigation it has been confirmed that one of the two funeral home worker from the random funeral home called by the Detective, which came to collect the body was best friend with the occupant Mr. Chip Wynn from which who’s home the 911 call originated from to alert authorities Keith’s body was in the woods? Did the Detective using his “very good recollection” had prior contact with the occupants of the home the 911 call originated from?

4. Ms. Mary was told that there was no prior interaction with Keith and Montgomery County PD, however in the police officers notes the Officer states the Detective was aware of Keith Warren’s prior mental history at the scene 7 hours prior to interviewing his mother or any family member, also in the police officers notes the detective makes no mention as to how he came about this information. Using the Detective‘s “very good recollection” how did the Detective have this information.

***Please note the original explanation given was that the information possibly was obtained at the scene through random conversation. If this were the case then the Detective used a random conversation from a person not referenced in any report to use to back the determination death to be a suicide.

5. Police told family body was not embalmed until family id the body, however in the Detective notes, the Detective called the funeral home at 10am Friday morning and was told “the body was processed”, however Keith's uncle did not ID body until after 1pm and 3 trips to the funeral home. The Detective using his “very good recollection” was asked who authorized the body to be “processed” from MCPD prior to identification?

6. Although Montgomery County police department told Ms. Mary the case was closed on July 31, 1986, the Detective cut the tree down one month later with the explanation that he was collecting evidence. Please explain why he was still collecting evidence? Who authorized the tree to be cut down?

7. Ms. Mary requested the noose on several occasions and was never given the noose and was eventually told that the noose was lost, however in the police officer notes it was mention the chief of police at the time did not want the noose released back to the family. The question has been ask of the Detective why would his department hold onto the noose and then coincidentally lose it if the case was closed as a suicide?

8. Date of death is listed as July 30, 1987. First the year is wrong, it was 1986. Second, Keith was found on July 31, 1986. How could they determine the time of death as being July 30, 1986 without doing a lividity test or an autopsy and was there any corrective action taken ?

9. Dr. Rogers, the Coroner, is marked both as being on the scene and as not being on the scene- which one is it and If Dr. Rogers was present why would the Detective (who I would assume was the lead at the scene) allow the Officer to pronounce Keith dead? Please ask the Detective using his “very good recollection” why the Officer pronounced Keith dead?

10. On Death Certificate it states that the Officer was the person who pronounced Keith dead. When did it become procedure that patrol officers could pronounce and what medical background qualified a patrol officer to pronounce death? Why would the police officer pronounce someone dead if a medical doctor was on the scene?- This ties into question #9

11. Office of the Chief Medical Examiners Investigation report it states that Keith sister “stated she hadn’t seen him for about a week.” This is impossible. Sherri was in New Jersey for two months prior to and at the time of Keith’s death and is his ONLY sister. So, first Sherri was not available to talk with the police (they did not know where she was) and second, Sherri had not seen Keith for two months---not because Keith had been missing ---but because she was in New Jersey and a minor. Please ask the Detective using his “very good recollection” who did the Chief Medical Examiner speak to? Why was the person’s identity not confirmed? Could it have possibly been someone who was trying to throw the initial investigation off?

12. September 19, 1986 Chief of Police Chief Brooks explained the tree was cut down for evidence in the event Keith’s case went to court. (This statement was confusing to the family, because the police were so insistent that the case was closed---yet at the same time they realized there were enough problems with the case that the family might later go to court.) If MCPD in particular the Detective was still collecting evidence then why did the department fight Ms. Mary to not reopen this case?
