Joe Yule, Jr., better known under the stage name Mickey Rooney, died on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at his Los Angeles, California home at age 93.
The son of Scottish Entertainers Joe Yule, Sr. and Nell Carter (who divorced when Joe, Jr. was aged 3), Ninion Joseph Yule, Jr. entered Showbiz as a Child Actor via Silent movies, and by age 17 appeared in no fewer than 18 Andy Hardy series of films (3 alongside Frances Gumm, real name of Judy Garland).
His first marriage, in 1942, to aspiring actress Ava Gardner, ended in divorce the following year, as well as 5 more marriages until he found everlasting love in Jan Chamberlain, whom he wed in 1978.
Joe's son, Tim (a.k.a. Tim Rooney), preceded him in death.
Joe fathered 10 children and is survived by widow Jan, as well as a slew of fans who remember him from various films & shows he made in the last century.
