On the subway I read the obit of Mary Stuart the star of Search for Tomorrow. What a great show ?? I remember her as Joanne Tate and the trouble she had with her husband's aunt. Who remembers all her TV husbands and what happened to each of them ? Who played her faithful friend Stu ????? Lets share memories of a great lady:talk:

Somewhere in my collection I have a tape of the last Search For Tomorrow that aired back in 1986.

Its been a while since I have seen it but I believe in the last scene, well next to last, someone asks Mary Stuart what is she searching for. She says ( of course ) tomorrow. Then the last scene of Search for Tomorrow has Mary talking to the camera thanking the few remaining viewers for their support of the show over the years. A nice touch !! Wish more shows would end their shows that way, by saying thanks to us viewers.

Search For Tomorrow died the same reason why The Edge Of Night, Ryan's Hope, Santa Barbara, and many daytime network game shows died, well all except The Price is Right. A lot of stations carried their own shows rather that what the network offered.

Our local CBS network was horrible when it came to that. Never knew Body Language was a CBS show til recently when I caught it on GSN and Tom Kennedy was talking about the show being dropped by CBS. Our local CBS channel at that time ( mid 80s ) didnt carry any of the CBS daytime games and they didnt carry much of the CBS Saturday morning line up either.
