View Full Version : What kind of shows would you like to see?
liane49 04-04-2014, 01:13 PM I'd like a family show. I love Parenthood but would love to see another family show. I would also like to see a medical show and a show about school but only a drama, not a comedy. I miss shows like Brothers and Sisters, ER and Boston Public.
Tubehead 04-04-2014, 01:57 PM I would like to see a detective show not like csi or criminal minds but one like the rock ford files parry mason cannon kojack or Magnum, P.I.

I think the closest thing is Castle - a romantic detective series.
The CSI and technology based detective/cop shows are very easy to produce and write since it all based on DNA or something found out by a machine analysis.
If you are like me over 50; all the air national networks don't care if you tune in to their programming since the advertisers don't pay for your viewership. They get pay the most in prime time from the 18-34 age group and then the 35-49! 50 and over; they get a fat "ZERO" in revenue.
Even in cable channels; there is a trend to get more young people into their viewership because they still have commercials in their broadcast too.

It doesn't have to be like "Laugh-In" or "Carol Burnett Show", but have it be also like "Chappelle's Show" which is STILL talked about today.
mets82 04-07-2014, 05:29 PM I dont mind a family show there could 20 of them for all I care but the thing is how do you know people will watch?
I'd like to see a somewhat plain cop/mystery show. More Matlock and Murder She Wrote than CSI or NCIS. What I also mean by plain is no fancy camera shots or music playing or fancy stuff like CSI or NCIS, just good storytelling like Murder She Wrote and Matlock.

I agree, I loved those shows and Matlock is still airing in reruns.
I'd like to see a crime drama show like In the Heat of the Night, where it focuses more on the relationships between the cops have with each other while they're solving crimes. I also liked the leisurely pace of the series and that the bad guys and girls were not over-the-top psychos like on Criminal Minds.
I'd also like to see another horror anthology series along the lines of The Twilight Zone, Night Gallery, The Hitchhiker and Darkroom. Not a remake of those shows but an original series using adaptations of stories already done along with original material. The last few ones I've seen either didn't do too well because it wasn't creepy enough, had lousy acting and/or were too adult (like Masters of Horror).

LUNCH 04-11-2014, 12:56 PM How about a GOOD talk show, one that only interviews celebrities that became famous over 20+ years ago.Have someone smart and likeable like Anson Williams for example hosting it.
Regulus 04-11-2014, 01:19 PM How about some Family-Friendly Slapstick Comedies with NO PROFANITIES. NO CRUDE JOKES (That's Sexual Innuendos and Bodily Functions for those of you in Rio Linda!) and no Derogatory Political "Sermons" about one sides political beliefs.
jasonbigley 04-11-2014, 01:38 PM We should have a family show like Roseanne again. A show portraying families in a real way with real issues. We don't need anymore Kardashians or rich spoiled housewives. I would also like to see a drama similar to L.A. Law where it shows stories about the work place and out of the work place. If I was going to create my own show, I would do a show about a 20 something guy getting out of high school or college and having to deal with issues a 20 something goes through for the first time in his life (getting a first job, first apartment, and a first relationship.) I also would like to see a show similar to Unsolved Mysteries again.

Coffeecup 04-13-2014, 10:52 AM With so many retro stations, I find myself watching so many older programs that even if they did put new shows on they would have to advertise well for I wouldn't know the new show is here. Sometimes the old shows are the new shows for I have never seen them.
I am in the minority for today's youth want to move with the times. Gilligan's Island is a fluff show compared to say Game of Thrones. Yeah I have gone to one extreme to another.
