I saw Wednesday night's episode about the library book fines, and it was mentioned that one of the books was taken out of the Jasper County library. Jasper County is in the northwestern part of Indiana along Interstate 65 with county seat Rensselaer between Lafayette and Gary. However, the fact that the Jasper County Library was said out loud made me think that the Hecks are more loyal to a different library, perhaps in one of the counties that surrounds Jasper County.

So that's where Orson is. Personally I thought it was in the southwestern part of the state. probably because it sounds similar to the town of Odon (between Washington and Bloomington).

I haven't been back here lately, but let me say that in May 2015 I saw an episode, and Axl was driving on some interstate, and his GPS pointed out his exit, referencing I-80, which runs up north in the counties that border Michigan, and Porter and Lake, both of which are on Lake Michigan.

Which makes me think it takes place in the northern part.

Oh, and the other day I saw that the Hecks' address is 427 Birchwood Avenue, Orson, IN 46213.

There was a map of Indiana, and Orson was halfway between Bloomington and Indianapolis, about where Martinsville is. That means it would have a ZIP code beginning with 474 or 461; 462 is the 3-digit prefix for Indianapolis ZIP codes.
