View Full Version : The Wackers AFTER 1985 and BEFORE 1993? (and from 94-99)

(Two points here that seem to've gotten buried in the main Wackers thread, since there's so much discussion in general. :) )

So, after Dorothy's first assault by the guy in their house with "car trouble" in '85, all that happened were some prank phone calls and rocks with notes thrown at their porch for 8 years, before Dorothy was suddenly (even more viciously) assaulted again outside?

I know UM purposely left certain details out of cases in the event somebody came forward (same thing police departments always do), and they made it seem as "mysterious" as possible. But I have to wonder if anything was left out, such as another burglary? Was there anything major that happened to them for that entire 8 years, or was it just a string of minor harassment in the late 80s/early 90s?

That's no small point either, because if it prompted Bill & other family members (perhaps, very likely, one of THEM was involved) to do that '93 stakeout, it could've been precipitated by some things happened recently.

I highly doubt the '93 assault was in any way related to or a copycat of the '85 one. The first guy who assaulted Dorothy was probably long gone by then or in jail for something else, and very few people would've probably even remembered or known about it!

Also, the segment was from May 1994. Did any harassment (or minor developments, media coverage, etc) occur AFTER that and before June 1999 when Bill died? Since Dorothy appeared to be the main target, does anyone know what her later years were like, all the way up to 2010 when she passed away herself? I seriously hope the poor woman was able to have some semblance of peace/happiness in her later years, especially being in that very same house.

I'd hate to think a family member or someone close to them could've been perpetuating this for literally the rest of their lives. Bill only lived 5 more years after the UM segment. :(

Unfortunately, the only coverage on this case has been the UM segment. The only thing online that can be found (thus far) is Dorothy's obituary.

With as huge and long-lasting as that main thread is, I'm actually surprised one of the Wackers' relatives hasn't posted in it by now! I'd absolutely love to hear any input from someone who knew either of them. Right now, all we have to go on is the face value knowledge presented by the UM segment itself.

Doesn't the lack of information often make these cases seem darker/eerier, longer ago, and more mysterious in general? And you just know, if social networking and the modern high-speed internet existed in 1994, this would've had loads of coverage too!
