Tom Bergeron will step down as host of "America's Funniest Home Videos" after next season, according to Vulture. Bergeron, who also co-hosts "Dancing with the Stars", has hosted the show since 2001.

"I've decided that, after 15 wonderful seasons as host of AFV, next year, the show's 25th anniversary(!!), will be my last," Bergeron told Vulture in a statement via email, but didn't offer specifics about why he's stepping down.

There's no word on who will replace him.

What? Aw, man! Tom Bergeron has done an awesome job as host of "America's Funniest Home Videos"- I enjoy his enthusiasm and good humor with the audience on the show, which Bob Saget also did well, by the way. Hey- with "How I Met Your Mother" ending, mayb Bob would want to step back into the role?:)
Anyway- hope someone good is found for the show- it's still one of the best shows on network TV right now.

After 25 years on the air it wouldn't surprise me. it's probably time for the show to end.

He was the co-host of a cable morning talk show with Laurie Hibbert so many years ago. (Breakfast time, on FX, in the great Bill Clinton years, then later Fox picked it up, back before Fox was so ultrarightwing liars and unbalanced like they are now).

It was way ahead of its time, and they got guests no one else ever got and full songs from people like James Brown and Garth Brooks.

Always liked him.
I think Laurie went on to marry Gelman from the Regis and Kathie Lee, then Regis and Kelly show.(now Kelly and Michael)
