When you take one chicken and make it last a week, that was Florida's way of budgeting. You're talking as if they were middle class. They did the best that they could just to keep a roof over their heads. They were just keeping their heads above water, making a way when they could lol.

For me, my car was paid off years ago. I didn't eat out unless it was really inexpensive but my cable was prominent in my home especially since I didn't do any outings. However, for a looong time, I had no cable but then got it back. I still live on a budget but my cable triple play (phone, cable and internet) take priority. I cut out about $300.00 from the expenses by ridding my self of a storage unit and the two cell phone accounts with a certain phone company and my monthly credit report subscription.

Now, keep in mind that the Evans' didn't have any of that stuff....except for the children's splurging on BIG MACS. LOL.
