I don't see how Arthur Chu has taken the romance out of Jeopardy! - what "romance" does the show have to begin with? It's a quiz show- and a fun one. I love watching it when I can.

he's not the first player to use that type of strategy to win, he has just been the most recently obvious successful at it.

I have always wondered why more players didn't do that right from the start, it seems like the most logical way to get ahead quickly.

I'm really confused. I dont understand all the hullabaloo with this? What is he doing thats so bad? I read the article, all I take from it is that when a question is asked, he answers it. Thats how the game is played. Its not his fault hes smart.

he goes after the highest point questions available first - the strategy is that instead of running through a category from the easy to the hard like most players do, he goes after all the highest point questions first and works his way across the bottom of the board and then through to the easier questions last.

This lessens the chance that any other players have of getting higher point questions, making it much harder for anyone to catch up.

Oh, I see now. I could see how that would turn a lot of people off.

That's not against the rules. That's just smart. Why wouldn't you do that? I can see how you might like to start with the easier questions for a confidence booster, but I can also see the advantages of starting with the top dollar questions and working to accumulate a large sum quickly.
How is that unfair to the other contestants? Just buzz in before Arthur Chu and get the question right. And they can just as easily employ the same strategy- or go down the board from $200 to $1000 and keep getting the questions right.
I don't have a problem with Chu on the show- I think he's just a smart Jeopardy! player- in more than one way. (smart knowledge-wise and smart strategy-wise).

I was rooting for him because he made so many stupid people angry. He played the game very well, this is how I would do it. He was hunting for the Daily doubles to keep it away from the other players. Usually the Daily Doubles are in the high money boxes.

I mean, why play 200-400-600-800-1000? That's boring!

Also, to the game show, quit interviewing the players. I do not care about their lives. Play the game. Also, Trebek, stop with your voice imitations. Grow back the stache (cjheck out the 1970's picture of Trebek, he looked a cross between Kotter and a Puerto Rican pimp)
