EmoJoe 02-28-2014, 04:12 AM The Goldbergs: This is definitely coming back. It's the only thing close to a hit comedy ABC has produced this year.
Trophy Wife: ABC's best new comedy this year by a comfortable mile...unfortunately, they failed it by giving it a DOA timeslot. It's dead, sadly.
Suburgatory: This is a true bubble show. I think it'll be back, though. Ratings aren't *terrible*, and it makes for a good placeholder.
Mixology: lol, no.
Nashville: Another really close one. I'm leaning towards yes just because ABC has had such an awful year for dramas. They're going to have to cancel *all* of their new dramas, so they may as well keep this one around.
The Good Wife: Its ratings are pretty bad, but CBS likes the acclaim. It'll get at least one more season.
The Mentalist: CBS typically cancels their lowest-rated returning drama, and this is it this year. I think there's a chance this breaks the streak because CBS has also had a terrible year for new dramas, but I wouldn't bet on it.
Mom: Definitely a ratings disappointment, but not disappointing enough for cancellation, I don't think.
The Millers: This is CBS's highest-rated new comedy - it's not going anywhere.
The Crazy Ones: Another ratings disappointment. If CBS doesn't ax Two and a Half Men (which they really should), this is the next in line to go. So, a toss-up, but I'll lean towards it being renewed.
Two and a Half Men: I think there's a very good chance this miserable train finally reaches the station this year. Let's hope so!
Undercover Boss: I barely even know what this show is. I'm gonna say it gets renewed because that's what happens to shows on CBS that I've never heard of.
Hawaii Five-O: It's held up pretty well on Fridays. It'll be renewed, I think.
Blue Bloods: This is a bubble show? It's a Friday night tentpole, at this point. Definite renewal.
The Tomorrow People: Its lack of renewal thus far is not a good sign, since CW has renewed most of their other shows. I'm leaning towards a no.
Hart of Dixie: Hmm, this hasn't been renewed yet? I think it'll probably get at least a final season renewal, since The CW likes to do that.
America's Next Top Model: No idea. Reality shows are hard to predict since they're cheap and stuff.
Almost Human: It's been doing pretty decently ratings-wise. I think it'll be renewed.
The Following: This has disappointed, but I doubt Fox is going to give up on it just yet. At least one more season.
Dads: I would be very surprised if this came back.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine: I would be very surprised if this didn't come back.
The Mindy Project: Maybe the bubbliest of all the bubble shows. Its spring ratings will make the final call. Right now, I'm leaning towards a 'yes', but with a shortened order and left off the fall schedule.
About a Boy: It's too early to tell, really. But I don't see this taking off. NBC might renew it just because they're desperate, though.
Growing Up Fisher: Again, too early to tell, but this show is generic as hell and those kinds of shows rarely make it. I would lean towards no, but let's wait and see.
Revolution: It hasn't had a Smash-esque crash, but it hasn't really held up. Probably not.
Community: I think it gets at least one last season, even if it's on Friday nights. NBC hasn't proved that they can do better than it yet.
Parks and Recreation: The safest bet of the NBC comedies. It'll get at least one more season.
Parenthood: It's between this and Revolution, I think. I would say this has the edge because it's done a better job of improving upon a long-troubled timeslot.
So that's a yes for: The Goldbergs, Suburgatory, Nashville, The Good Wife, Mom, The Millers, The Crazy Ones, Hawaii Five-O, Blue Bloods, Hart of Dixie, Almost Human, The Following, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Mindy Project, Community, Parks and Recreation, and Parenthood.
king of comedy 02-28-2014, 08:42 AM I'll be very happy if Brooklyn 99 gets renewed and Dads doesn't.
James28 02-28-2014, 11:35 AM If it came down to a last-minute decision between The Good Wife and The Mentalist, I'll lean towards renewing The Good Wife. Since The Mentalist's "Red John" storyline has wrapped, it has become another cookie-cutter procedural, and it is produced by an outside studio (Warner Bros.). The Good Wife: The show is an in-house production, and I heard there is a plan to run the show for seven seasons, and next year will be its sixth.
On the poll, I chose the following bubble shows: The Goldbergs, The Good Wife, Two and a Half Men (final season, 12-18 episodes), Hawaii Five-0, Blue Bloods, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Community (final season, 14 episodes), Parks and Recreation, and Parenthood.
yankeesrj12 02-28-2014, 12:46 PM The Goldbergs, Nashville, Mom, The Millers, Two and a Half Men, Undercover Boss, Hawaii Five-0, Blue Bloods, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, About a Boy, Growing Up Fisher, Community, Parks and Rec, Community, and Parenthood will all be back for another season.
America's Next Top Model has already been renewed, and returns in August.
I didn't vote for The Good Wife (I didn't see the option), but I still think it has a good chance of coming back.
And while its a long shot, I hope Dads comes back.
icecream 02-28-2014, 01:46 PM Blue Bloods: This is a bubble show? It's a Friday night tentpole, at this point. Definite renewal.I love Blue Bloods and want it to last for a long time. The reason it's a bubble show: all the veteran dramas CBS cancels are from Fridays and Sundays. And if total viewers counted it would be a lock but it skews really old like Harry's Law, which had over 10 million viewers but was cancelled because of the low demo.
tlc38tlc38 02-28-2014, 01:55 PM Honestly, I don't watch ANY of these shows so I don't care if they return or not.
Mace Dolex 02-28-2014, 02:26 PM What is a bubble show, is that a term for shows that aren't bringing in the ratings but look promising enough to get them renewed in hopes of luring new viewers who are looking for something other than reality/contestant shows?
icecream 02-28-2014, 06:21 PM What is a bubble show, is that a term for shows that aren't bringing in the ratings but look promising enough to get them renewed in hopes of luring new viewers who are looking for something other than reality/contestant shows?A bubble show is a show that could go either way for renewal or cancellation. There are the big hits that are obvious renewals like The Big Bang Theory, The Voice, and Modern Family. There are the shows that are flops sure to be cancelled like The Michael J. Fox Show, Killer Women, and Rake. In between are the bubble shows.
irehtman 02-28-2014, 06:25 PM Brooklyn Nine-Nine is doing way better than Dads. I think in this next season, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Enlisted should move to a new night together.
The Mindy Project needs to fix the supporting cast by increasing some more balances. We need to look forward to add two more characters in the main cast to make it ten ASAP!
I'm not sure about Mixiology, no chemistry at all in that show!
IllinoisTVFan 03-01-2014, 01:49 AM Isn't Brooklyn 99 the show that is winning awards? if so, chances are it'll be renewed. Going by what I hear, the Millers, the Goldbergs and the Crazy Ones will all be renewed. I think many of the other ones will be renewed as well. I've only seen the Goldbergs and I like it.
icecream 03-07-2014, 10:24 PM Almost everyone had Brooklyn Nine-Nine picked correctly but The Following and The Mindy Project were more of a surprise. I really didn't think Mindy would be renewed, especially with 2nd season shows usually getting a 4th season with a 3rd for syndication. The Following is also in its 2nd season but is farther to syndication with only 15 episodes per year.
comedyfreak 03-10-2014, 01:11 PM I'm hoping The Goldbergs, Trophy Wife, The Millers, Crazy Ones, Broolyn Nine Nine, and Dads all get renewals.
JamesG 03-10-2014, 03:48 PM FOX
Cancelled/Likely Cancellations
The X-Factor, Raising Hope, Enlisted, Rake
"Raising Hope" has been canceled.

I still wouldn't be surprised if Mindy was a 13-episode, midseason kind of deal. (I don't think the length of the seasons was announced yet)
That said, Mindy does fairly well in the 18-34 demo, which is valuable. Maybe that has more weight than we realize.
I'm hoping The Goldbergs, Trophy Wife, The Millers, Crazy Ones, Broolyn Nine Nine, and Dads all get renewals.
Brooklyn Nine Nine has already been renewed.
irehtman 03-10-2014, 08:28 PM Save Enlisted, cancel Dads!
Enlisted fits well with Brooklyn Nine Nine!
icecream 03-10-2014, 08:46 PM Save Enlisted, cancel Dads!
Enlisted fits well with Brooklyn Nine Nine!Enlisted is unlikely to be renewed. A show in the 0s on one of the big four is almost certain cancellation. Plus Raising Hope was hitting those same ratings and FOX could have moved Enlisted to a better night and lead-in but they kept it on Friday. I think Dads will also be cancelled but it could be renewed if FOX wants a Seth McFarlane show to pair with Family Guy when American Dad is gone.
EmoJoe 03-11-2014, 01:10 AM My guess is that it's not good news for anything Fox hasn't renewed yet. (I could see Almost Human getting another season though.)
I really hope Fox will be patient with Enlisted. It's a genuinely great show that doesn't deserve the crappy fate it's been given. Not holding my breath, though.
