I've been seeing a lot more classics being released on blu-ray lately and it's gotten my hopes up for Taxi. Do you think that it will ever be released on blu-ray? If so, do you also think they'd add any special features? I would absolutely love to see deleted scenes and bloopers. Commentaries and interviews would also be great! But seeing as the only special features on the DVDs are for 4&5 and they're just episode promos..

I think it all depends on weather there is a market for it. If they made enough money off of the standard DVD releases, then they may try for a blu-ray release. But there are other factors involved too. blu-ray is higher priced than standard DVD. So are there enough people that will pay the price? Also. Many companies that have the rights to release TV shows on DVD, are selling out to others I guess shows that were on Sony, have gone over to Shout Factory. But remember. It is a business and the bottom line (Money) is always going to decide their next step.
I would love to see Taxi on DVD, and would even buy it. Although blu-ray is better than standard DVD, IMHO, it's not much better than standard DVD.

But don't sitcoms filmed on video instead of film just look bad when upgraded to Bluray?

they don't care about how they look or whether they are complete - all the studios care about is "will it sell".
...and it took a long time for them to release all the seasons of Taxi on DVD, that doesn't bode well for the "will it sell" question.
