Hi all,

I just started watching M&M and I'm wondering if Mike and Molly ever face anyone who is mean to them about their weight (bullying or discrimination etc). So far it seems like their friends and family just make a lot of silly jokes.

Right. It hasn't gotten to more than that - yet. I don't think the writers have gone that way.

I've only seen about half of the first season so far. I guess I was expecting some more dramatic scenes where they discuss their weight or where they tell someone off for being rude about it. Does anything like that come up in the show ever?

I had a friend who joked about her sisters weight problem. The sister didn't seem to be bothered by it but it bothered me. Finally one day the sister and I were alone while I waited on my friend to get off work and we had time to talk. The sister admitted it hurt her but she said she tried to act like it didn't.

Everyone has feelings and words do hurt. I think it's intolerant when we don't accept others for what and who they are. I see it as a form of bullying.

Jokes made that the expense of others are cruel in my opinion and I don't think they are funny.
