I'm sure this might seem a bit unusual,
but if you could switch roles of the
four females, who would you cast as
each of the four women. For ex, would
you cast Betty White as Blanche and etc....?

I read an article stating that originally Rue McClanahan was going to portray Rose and that Betty White was hired to play Blanche. Rue said that she and Betty decided to change parts and it was luckily ok'd by the producers.

Actually,,Betty's role on the Mary Tyler Moore show,,SueAnn,,was also a bit of a man chaser.
