"Mistresses" Exclusive: "Episodes" Co-Star Set to Recur as April's "Fabulous" Gay Pal
by Michael Slezak
2/11/14
Could April’s home-furnishings shop get even more delectable as "Mistresses" enters its second season?
The answer is a definite maybe, now that the ABC sudser has cast "Episodes’" Joseph May in the recurring role of Mickey, the “fabulous” gay pal and business associate of Rochelle Aytes’ level-headed single mom.
Mickey, according to a show source, has been friends with April since childhood and provided the bankroll when she opened Maison Per La Mer.
“He has a genuine love for April in his candy-coated heart” — a love that won’t let him watch her forget her dream of selling her own artistic wares. As a result, he “demands that April attend a pop-up art show downtown.”
Presumably, this event is where we’ll meet Daniel, a “sexy, smoldering artist” that executive producer Rina Mimoun told us last month will get the (mostly) virtuous April to “open up… in more ways than one.”
Ultimately, Daniel will not turn out to be exactly as advertised, Mimoun added, leading to April’s realization that “she may be more sinner than saint, after all.”
