Report: David Cassidy's Wife Files for Divorce

by Liz Raftery

David Cassidy's wife, Sue Cassidy, filed for divorce today after 23 years of marriage to the former "Partridge Family" star, TMZ reports.

Last month, David Cassidy was arrested and charged with DUI in Los Angeles. He is currently in rehab, and it's unclear whether that factored into Sue's decision, which she tells TMZ "has been looming for some time."

Added Sue Cassidy: "I'm glad David is getting the help he needs and I am confident he will come back better and stronger than ever."

The Cassidys, who have been together for 28 years but announced last August that they were separated, have a 23-year-old son, Beau.

Hope he gets the help he needs. It's so hard to live with someone who has an alcohol or drug problem & it's bound to have put a terrible strain on their marriage.

I, myself, have never been married, but rumor has it that marriage is supposed to be for BETTER or WORSE.

That's pretty cold to divorce a guy while he's in rehab. Your leaving him just when he needs you most.

Well, considering that they'd announced their separation before this AND it seems he was driving with someone he evidently termed his 'fiancee' in spite of still being legally married, I think she was more gracious re wishing him well than some other spouses would have been.
Wonder if he's still 'engaged'?

Damn right. Vows/promises mean nothing in today's society.

Men should remain single. There are way too many financial ramifications when you get divorced.
