I recently compared a few of my CBS episodes to some of the Comedy Gold episodes and there are some edits here and there. It is no big deal but I wanted to let those who might have been wondering know.

The show is not even on cable or digital tv so why would anyone care about edited eps?

If you read what I posted, I said it was no big deal I was just letting others know. I really don't care if the episodes or not either. What is wrong with letting others know? Many people think Comedy Gold airs many of their shows unedited and I wanted to let them know that wasn't the case with this show.

Because I didn't understand the point of the thread

People come to the sitcom boards to speak their minds and not be attacked by others. I have seen your other post so I stay away from threads you are in because you tend to be negative.

Have a great day!

Actually, now the series is currently airing in Canada on a Book Television along with Soap, The Waltons and China Beach. It aired on Comedy Gold for about a year or so and aired in the US on ME Too out of Chicago less than a year ago.

Are you sure about that? I looked up the channel and it looks like they air programs that pertain to actual books. Where does it say One Day at a Time airs on that station? I can't find an actual schedule for the channel so I can't be sure if the show actually airs on the channel.

I don't know for sure as I don't live in Canada. Book Television's website seems to be rather new and in development. Be careful, it is Book Television not Book TV. Book TV is part is CSPAN. However, I did find this site with their schedule:

http://tvlistings.zap2it.com/tvlistings/ZCSGrid.do?stnNum=26771&channel=20. They are airing Season 2.

Book Television's website: http://www.booktelevision.com/

BWF, I'm actually interested. Can you give some examples. I wanna know thanks.

A perfect example is how they transition from one scene to the next. Scenes are cut off during dialogues and move to a unrelated scene. Same thing with commercials, they will cut in the middle of a scene and return to a different scene.

This is not rare for Canadian stations because CTS air almost all of their TV shows edited. It all depends on the version that the studio distributing the show sends the station. If they are given an edited version then that is what will play but if they are given an unedited copy then that is what will play.

Here in the states, TV ONE was airing shows unedited and slowly, it began more shows that were edited. Now it is to the point almost all reruns are edited.

Yeah well, I knew that was bound to happen. Like most networks, a new one will sell out once there is opportunity to run more ads.

I remember when 227 was airing uncut. I was working on set for a TV ONE show (2007) and was talking to one of the Execs in charge and she told me that I needed to catch the eps while I could as the show would be off the schedule soon...she was right. If the show were to come back, then it would be Uncut...I hate edited stuff!!!

does it seem like 10 years ago TV One made it's debut? Damm time flies

I remember I had to have surgery and still made sure before I left to go to the hospital, I made sure I programmed my VCR to record the Good times eps on TV one because I wanted a uncut collection lol

I didn't get TV ONE on my cable line up in Orlando. When I moved into my apt in NY in 2008, I had TV ONE. When I was living with some relatives in Manhattan months earlier, they had TV ONE and I taped couple of uncut 227 shows. LOL.
