Surprise TWC customers and over the air metro area residents....Get TV, the Sony owned new digital classic movie channel is on the air! Launching Feb 3, 2014 as scheduled on Ch. 68.3 digital WFUT-DT licensed to Newark, New Jersey. TWC NY/NJ customers are getting it on Channel 119 with full time carriage.
As of this writing Tuesday nights are promising classic 60's fun films like the just concluded 1964 "Ride The Wild Surf" with beauties Barbara Eden & Shelley Fabares and some guy named Fabian....lol.....now at 9:20 from 1965 "Winter a Go-Go" described as "work, play & dancing to rock 'n' roll at a ski lodge". Can't go wrong with that type of 60's kitsche!
Sure the name really doesn't fit the format which is only classic movies featuring the likes of cool cats Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, etc. And yes TCM does feature these at times without commercial interruption, but this is over the air classic TV and these are certainly the golden years that we thought were long dead.....
Lets all enjoy the likes of Antenna TV, MeTV, Cozi TV, and now Get TV all in the NYC/NJ metro area before these digital sub channels start to slowly "evolve" into newer other c**p.
The first few years are always the best.....Yes there was a time when TV Land showed "The Sonny & Cher Show" hour versions UNCUT and had no commercials except classic "retromercials".
