I noticed this channel was gone yesterday night. With the exception of Matlock, I didn't really watch it anyway.

Recently, DIRECTV also removed The Weather Channel.

I'm so glad that I got rid of Direct TV last year. It's more trouble than it's worth.

After doing some research on DIRECTV and INSP, I found out that DIRECTV didn't technically drop INSP...they decided to leave DIRECTV.

This is from DIRECTV's website:

DIRECTV offers smaller programmers an opportunity to buy airtime on our programming lineup. Inspiration, channel 364, is one of the networks that paid DIRECTV to air its channel. Unfortunately, Inspiration decided to no longer purchase that airtime as of 1/31/14. DIRECTV did not drop the network, Inspiration simply decided they no longer wanted to purchase airtime.

I don't have Direct TV but...INSP,unlike most other cable channels is still offering their channel Free of charge,so Direct TV should not have dropped them.

Even though INSP may offer their channel for free to the viewer it's obvious that Directv doesn't want to carry it for free. I seriously doubt that INSP is entirely at fault here. They decided not to pay the fees Directv wanted and the channel was dropped.

That just might make sense. Up here in the north, we had an issue where Viacom did not want to pay the alleged high prices that Time Warner Communications were allegedly charging for the contract renewal and we lost many Viacom related channels ranging from local channels like a CBS affiliaate to Nickelodoen and BET. Celebs from CBS shows and other Viacom stations did on air radio promotions to encourage people to switch their service so as not to miss the debuts and premieres of programming to yet air. This sounds familiar to me.

I'm surely no expert, however this is different though.Viacom was asking for high prices, and I think eventually got them.So basically people are paying a lot of money for those channels. On the other hand the INSP channel is totally FREE.They are not asking for a penny. In this case Directv are totally at fault in my opinion.

Ok. That was just an alleged theory that I had. I guess it doesn't stick after all. Hmmm....
