View Full Version : Joanie Loves Chachi - The Complete Series - Seasons 1 & 2 DVD Review
It's a return to great family fun in this spinoff from the hit series Happy Days. Joanie Loves Chachi stars teen heartthrob Scott Baio as Chachi, a pop-singing superstar-in-waiting, who just happens to be the cousin of cool guy Fonzie, and whose true love is Joanie Cunningham (Erin Moran). In a sitcom filled wtih music, laughs, and a whirlwind of emotions, this young couple finds that being in love and being in a band isn't always harmonious. Joanie Loves Chachi is a heartfelt comedy romp that will take you back to the happiest of days.

MacLeaper 02-01-2014, 02:49 AM Nice review! I look forward to watching "Joanie Loves Chachi" on DVD in its entirety soon.:)
(I LOVE the theme song, by the way- such a pretty song.):)
thank you Todd for the review...it's a pity to read that some songs were deleted :(
anglemark10 02-06-2014, 01:37 AM Anyone notice the typo in one of the episode titles when playing the first disc?
OneWayFilms 02-06-2014, 01:52 AM Where did everyone find your copy of this? I found ONE copy at Walmart and I snatched it right up.

That's really no surprise. Although some releases are perfect, most releases now fall victim to music edits. CBS releases are the worse when it comes to music rights, they don't even try, they just cut or replace the songs.

I saw a few copies at my local Walmart yesterday. I didn't pick it up but I wished I did. I may try and go back later this week to see if they still have one left.
bencasey 02-17-2014, 02:27 AM I'll stick with my off-air ABC network recordings, thank you.
MacLeaper 02-17-2014, 12:51 PM I haven't seen this on store shelves yet... of course, I'm sure not every store bothered to get it.
OneWayFilms 03-02-2014, 07:45 AM I just watched the episode on DVD BEATLEMANIA where Joanie meets a guy who looks JUST like Paul McCartney and thinks it's him, turns out it's just some normal guy. Now, while watching this, we are 'CLUED" in that this is the REAL Paul Mccartney pulling a guest appearance on the show, then towards the end, it's obvious that a song was edited out of the dvd, and then the last scene has another Beetle member makes a quick cameo, further adding confussion to Joanie & Chachi about the true identity of these British people.
I looked up on YouTube and found the UNEDITED version of this and watched the edited song. Paul sings with Joanie and Chachi "I Want to Hold Your Hand", a Beatle classic.
But then, during the end credits, they have some WEIRD actors name playing this role.....
Now I AM confused.....was this NOT Paul Maccartney doing a guest appearance on the show? or was it a REAL look-a-like?

he's NOT Paul MacCartney!! he is not him...he's different... ;)

Do you have checking in from CBS?

I hope you don't believe that Paul-is-Dead nonsense. Everything points to him being alive and well.

Of course not. On a related note, however, maybe CBS should just use the Butcher Cover for all its DVDs, since that's all they do to all their shows.
Vahan 03-07-2014, 03:17 PM Mitch Weissman played as the Paul look-a-like.

Well that DVD sounds like a pile of ****
jefflob 03-27-2023, 06:06 PM Joanie's Roomate has a scene of Al & Louisa singing/dancing cut at about 13mins in.
TVFactFan 03-27-2023, 11:24 PM sounds like that DVD is a waste of money
jefflob 03-28-2023, 05:16 AM 17 episodes, 7 cut, so yes it is a bit.
