I don't cry very often. Still, certain songs or Christmas carols can move me to tears if I'm in the right mood. Sad movies bring on the waterworks. Birthdays or the anniversary of loved ones gone as well. Yesterday was the 23rd anniversary of my sister's passing (not what this thread is about at all). I was talking about her to my husband, saying I remember her so vividly. I got choked up and changed the subject.

There's tears of joy, like when my husband walked last year after being told it was unlikely he ever would. My husband cries more since he's getting older. I guess that's true of many people. Sad animal stories can make me cry.

Enough about me. What brings you to tears?

I cry more as I get older. I miss people and animals that have passed on. Songs and old movies make me cry or get teary eyed. The song "A Daisy A Day" really gets me. The new Budweiser Clydesdale commercial with the puppy is so sweet it brings a tear to my eye.

Yea I cry more the older I get. I miss family that have passed on. I miss the youth I used to have. When actors die anymore I get more down than usual because it's another part of my youth that has gone. I've also gotten very sensitive at movies I used to watch that never used to effect me like that.

Enough about me. What brings you to tears?


Sad movies, which is why I avoid them. I can't get through "Terms of Endearment" or "Steel Magnolias" without bawling. Animal deaths in films are extremely upsetting to me (no, I'm not a vegetarian, nor will I ever be. I will cop to being a hypocrite on this issue.) I boycotted "The Walking Dead" for over a year after seeing a certain scene in the premier. Don't even get me started on old Lassie reruns where she's limping for whatever reason...

Like Janice, songs will sometimes set me off. "Puff the Magic Dragon" used to be sung to me by my Southern Baptist Grandmother who I am *sure* did not understand what the song was really about. To this day I can't listen to it without tearing up, even if it's playing on the juke box at the Silver Diner.

Anniversaries get me as well. This month marks the 26th anniversary of my mother's death and February will bring the 35th anniversary of my father's passing.

Yes, I cry sometimes. I, too, find certain songs and movies hard to get through without crying. The movie Beaches with the song "Wind Beneath My Wings" is a good example.
If I think about the passing of my great-grandpa (1990) or great-grandma (1994) it makes me sad and can cause me to cry. My brother's cancer has made me cry. Though I try not to let it get to me, my continued decrease in vision makes me sad if I think about it too much.

The loss of my pets makes me sad too. After losing my dog Max in 2000 I went into counseling. My family had him for 15 years. Then my cat Chava got really sick in 2008 and he had to be put down. Although, it's not a 'death' it still feels like a loss of my cat Cuddles. She got sick in 2012 and I had to give her to someone with good vision to take care of her.

My mother moving with my sister to live with her, then boyfriend, who now is her husband. Being left behind was hard. I felt I wasn't important enough for her to bring me with her. I asked her if I could go and she said no.

I'm a 56 year old grown man; I don't cry!

A sad movie or a movie with a happy feel good ending will get me misty eyed but I am not a "cryer" . My husband has always been a soft hearted guy. He says that I am not emotional because I'm German. :lol: He is half French (Canadian) so I guess that means he's emotional :lol: The other half of him is German too so I guess that holds him in check.:D

The movies which really get to me are Steel Magnolias and Somewhere In Time among others. They are "killers"!:)

I don't cry much as I used to.. Once and while I will tear up when I am criticized. When do cry I can't shake it very well. I think about the thought and the thought stays with me. In my teens and twenties I would cry more. Sad songs, movies, relatives passing etc. But as I get older the situations don't bother me as much. I have notice when I do cry lately I get dizzy, which is a good reason to stop. Years ago I would just get headaches. I look back on the olden days and think I wasted a lot of time worrying about sad situations. I should have been happier.

Wind in my eyes, or someone with really strong perfume or cologne brings me to tears, but nothing really emotional makes me cry except music.

Well, I did cry at the end of The Dark Knight Rises, such a perfect film.

I cried yesterday for the first time in a while. Broke out in tears while watching the news.

I don't cry too often. Only if I'm feeling depressed or lonely.

There's only one song that makes me cry. And, I do it everytime I hear it.

Cyndi Lauper's Time After Time. That song makes me bawl like a baby because it reminds me of my ex.

Only if i'm I were in extreme physical pain.

The only time I cry is when someone I love passes away. I do get sad feelings when I watch certain movies or listen to a sad song but for some reason I just don't cry over them.

I always cry during movies or tv shows even once during a Halmark commercial, :lol: but real life situations rarely make me cry. :crazy:

Nothing wrong with it...... My mom isnt well so I hacve been crying over that and many othr things also.......
