by Carolyn Giardina
"Everybody Loves Raymond" will be inducted into the National Association of Broadcasters' Broadcasting Hall of Fame on April 7 at the NAB Show in Las Vegas.
Castmembers expected to attend include Ray Romano, Patricia Heaton, Doris Roberts, Brad Garrett and Monica Horan, along with the show's creator, Phil Rosenthal, and several of the show's principal writers.
"Everybody Loves Raymond is a great example of high quality broadcast programming that provides family entertainment, resonates with audiences of all ages, and above all, makes us laugh," said Gordon Smith, president and CEO of the NAB.
"I look forward to meeting the cast members and writers and recognizing the show's amazing success at this year's NAB Show."
The family comedy, which debuted in 1996, aired for nine seasons and ranked among the top 10 programs on television beginning with the 2000-2001 season. It completed its network run on CBS in May 2005 with the series finale drawing more than 32 million viewers.
The series was executive-produced by Rosenthal, Romano, Stu Smiley and Rory Rosegarten. Produced by Worldwide Pants and HBO Independent Productions, "Everybody Loves Raymond" is distributed domestically in syndication by CBS Television Distribution and internationally by CBS Studios International.
Previous NAB Broadcasting Hall of Fame television inductees include Betty White, Garry Marshall, and programs including "The Tonight Show", "Saturday Night Live" and "M*A*S*H".
